Army Repaint: Combat Squad 2 & 3 done!

Okay so I told my self to paint one combat squad a week. Now seems that I'm motivated enough to do more than 5 men! So repainted my 15 guys for the tournament and have spare time for another 10. Still need to do some infernus pistol and combi melta but that isn't much work! Also the bases for my Devastor Squad keeps flat and plane... Gonna work on those for sure this week!

Army Repaint: Combat Squad 1 done!

So like I said in the beginning of the year I would redo my Nurgle Angels Army. The marines for most part, add vehicles and extend it with a Sanguinary Guard troop army. I finished the squad yesterday but I was too tired to take pictures and write something. After seeing Torchwood, Zombieland and a whole other bunch of movies I went to sleep. I did try to paint a powersword properly but failed... My devastator collection is for 95% done. Only have to do the bases!!

Devastator Squad, Razorback and Evil Grey Knight!

First I'm gonna post the Devastator Squad I'm working on for the LPC.
Doing all the marines with heavy weapons now so they all have the same rusty look on them. I only need to do some metal drybrush on them and the eyes in blue and then as final the bases.

My Razorback finally got some love also. I'm doing a different kind of approach for the Rhino/Razorback. Only the Land Raider, drop pods and Land speeder will be different for every army.

 

 

And as final I show you what I have in my mind for the past week. An evil Grey Knight! As Goatboy is also doing evil Grey Knight and he is a great inspiration with his Space Goats.
I'm for sure the Evil Grey Knights will be usefull in my Sanguinary Guard army also! I just reallised that I have for 75% of that army (still in the box). But as the rumours go the Black Templars will be in March/April. Kinda hope they will be in April. So I can finish up Nurgle Angels and Black Templars!

First painting of the year!

I started with my LPC vow! My Razorbacks, Priest and devastator squad. Gonna try some highlights this evening but first up are the pictures of my first sunday painting! Devastators will have rusty effect over whole the armour. The razorback will get Red/black paintjob but not the one with 50/50. Gonna do something special with them! For this I have to thank my girlfriend. Thanks to her I can use these Rhino/Razorbacks in my Black Templar Army aswell! I know what about the skulls? Let just say that's the way for Black Templars to warn all the traitors, heretics and witches out there!

2012 planning

Last post I said my plans for 2012.

What do I aim for 2012?
- trying to do highlights.
- expand my Nurgle angels (vehicles and extra units) and redo them with highlights.
- Black Templar redo
- maybe Black Templars when they get a new codex!?
- Finish all my miniatures I have laying around
- snow base all of my bases
- ooh and not to forget! Count as Logan Grimnar Wing!?
- A displace tray for the armies?

Now lets see how I will do this. First of no Skyrim for me! Only Space Marine when the girlfriend is here. the Wii is one thing I'll maybe do a bit.
My shedule to plan things will be this:
- every sunday I will try to do painting on my Libarium Painting Challenge.
 This has to be done before 25the February:
                     * 1 devastator Squad
                     * 3 Razorbacks
                     * 1 Sanguinary Priest
- Week 1+2: I will start testing highlighting + test damage armour
- Week 3: start redoing Combat Squad 1 for the Green Knight Double Tournament
- Week 4: start redoing Combat Squad2
- And so on... I will try to keep this on for the next months.

2011 ending and beginning 2012

What did 2011 brought to me?

My Nurgle Angels finished. I do like my army but I shouldn't have gone Descent of Angels with them.
Sadly I didn't win any battle with them (for now). That’s why I'm going for a more tournament style army. Razorbacks, Rhino's and 2 stormravens. The deep strike went good sometimes but yeah... It was easy for my opponent to just kill my army.
I maybe should have gone for Sanguinary Guard army but meh! That's for another time (maybe!).
I did play a lot more tournaments then I thought I would. I did get owned every time but I had a fun time every time. So that's still what matters.
Next year maybe it is time for a Chaos Legions variant of my Nurgle Angels. But will see what Games Workshop bring out in Q1-Q2 of 2012.
Gonne focus on that. Because 2012 will be 40k year!! I fear for changes when 6th edition comes out.
I also started with the idea of a Fantasy army but will see what is going to happen. The Vampire Counts look tempting to do. Since the girlfriend isn't all too happy about a beastmen army!

I ended the year with the promise to first finish the models I have lying around (except for Space Hulk and Dreadfleet).
And so far it was going well. This because I place them on a spot where they are in the way.
The place is where the cable of my pc mouse lays and when I move, well I slam my models and I'm irritated.  So I take my model and start painting! I did try some highlights on some models. Pictures are below. And also the razorback turrets of my Razorbacks are ready to be painted.

So what was 2011 really to me?
- white dwarf reading

- playing space marine

- and some other stuff I must have forgotten.
