Black Templars

So what do we have there? A new Space Marine codex and my favorite Chapter of Crusading Zealots are in it. How do I feel about this?? First of all it made me feel sick because Black Templars and smurfs (Ultramarines) share the same codex…. On the other hand we get all the funky stuff like Riflemen dreads, Whirlwind, Sternguard… If the rumors are true…  We lose, Sword Brethren, Sword Brethren Terminators, Righteous zeal,… We will see this Saturday. But it still makes me a sad panda!!

What will I do for now? Look at the meta change from Tau / Eldar to Tau / Eldar and Space Marines. That’s for sure. So hello veterans of the long war upgrade on my plague marines. I’ll also wait before I take my Templars back to the tournament level. First I have to do some painting on those guys! I really hope Games Workshop made them okay for 6^th edition. I’m aiming to get my Black Templar force ready by summer 2014. Then the meta has settled and I know what to choose for my Black guys. First thing to do will be updating the Rhino's for the Squads, an Aegis Defence Line for the Templars, paint High Marshal Helbrecht, my Emperor Champion, more Black Templars, a Stormraven, a Stormtalon,...

For now I’m still going to tournaments with my Chaos Space Marines. Second Helldrake has been painted. Only need some basing done. Then it’s time for some zombies, plague marines, raptors and Chaos Guard allies!

Last weekend I joined up with Jeroen for a Double Tournament it was a blast! We ended a bit low. I blame the second match. Double Riptide and Double Wraithknight. And it was killpoint mission. So we where kinda screwed. Drop pod Space Wolves and Chimera + 2 Vendetta Guard. Hmm? I had a great day and a fun time!

Second match. Lucky for us Jeroen killed one Riptide in the beginning and both Wraithknights had one wound left. They wouldn't die and I didn't roll good enough.

So it’s been some time since I moved and my vacation has come to an end! I can say it was a pretty productive vacation. The apartment looks great. Only need to get some pictures from family and friends to print. Then something to hang up above the tv and the miss has to paint 8 Multicolor Warhol paintings.

Also in miniature work I did a lot. Got 8 zombies from mantic and 10 zombies from Games Workshop built and painted. Only have to fix the bases for them. My bloodthirster, Mister Nurgle, Nurgle Daemon Prince and random Daemon Prince are done. My 2 Beasts of Nurgle are also done. The juggernaut lord is built and painting has begun. Taking it slow cause his my first sculpting I ever done.

My original helldrake is also built and primed black. I’ve got some chosen waiting for a paint job, a Hellbrute and some Cygnar Warjacks as well. Seems like I still know what to do.

On a side note I met Aaron Demski Bowden. He was in Ypres and if there is one thing the English go and see it is the Last Post. So I went and I met him. Had a short talk and asked for an autograph. Fun times!  Other than that I’m looking into allies for my Chaos I miss a lot shooting so Tau maybe? Necrons? Or Imperial Guard? It will be most likely Imperial Guard cause I have a lot stuff already laying around for an army. Only thing I doubt is the Manticore or some Leman Russ tanks? 
And one thing that has put me down a bit is that Black Templars are in the Space Marine Codex. This means that I will be walking around with a smurf on my codex cover... But maybe it will not so bad and I'll have a great blast with them? Will see...

Back for good!

So I’m back! This time school is fully over. I've got positive feedback. Not like some other people… That will teach the backstabbers.

I didn’t paint much this past 2 months, because of school. Missed 2 tournaments but since I’m now finished with school it was a small price to buy. I’ve painted some Inifity figures, 3 terminators and the other cultists who where in the Dark Vengeance box. What’s on the planning for me now? First off all I’m going to live together with my girlfriend. After 4years the day is almost there. Only 2 weeks left!

• Put everything in boxes for the big move!
• Unload everything from the boxes and give it a place
• Built and paint my scratch built Khorne Lord on a Juggernaut of the Khorne. Aka a Nurgle Marine on a gaint maggot
• Paint a Demon Prince with black mace, power armour and wings (arms are magnetized)
• Paint a count as Bloodthirster
• Paint a count as Beast of Nurgle
• Paint a Daemon Prince of Nurgle (Mister Nurgle / Fat Plague Gentlemen)
• Paint Dreadfleet with the miss
• Built and paint myself a Plague Tower (because of Apocalypse coming!)
• Built and paint some Black Templar terminators & Stormraven
• ....

 I'm also rethinking my Nurgle Angels list. Two helldrakes are must in my list now.

And 3x 5 Plague Marines with Plasma guns. Two squads of Havocs with Autocannons and an Aegis Defence Line.

12th Conflict

Sunday 14th april it was 12th conflict in Aarschot. The 12th time Team Conectr organized this tournament and I had another great time. The missions they had where the same. My army wasn't!

Last Time I brought Blood Angels this time it was Chaos Space Marines. Most likely I'm going to tour with Nurgle Angels for the next few years.  The first battle was against Chaos Daemons. First time I played against them. It was a fun battle, but we didn't get past the third turn the result was a draw. No problem for me. His flying monstrous creatures had just landed in my lines. I was glad the game was done.... I wasn't going to make it otherwise. Didn't do anything wrong here. Slaanesh daemons & screamers just are nasty. So are the flying monstrous creatures...

 After the lunch it was up against the archenemy of Grandfather Nurgle! Tzeetch Chaos Space Marines! The two parts that really made me sad was that my Great Unclean One was destroyed on deepstriking and my Chaos Lord turned into a Chaos Spawn... Was good battle nonetheless didn't do much of mistakes. Should have focused more on his squad of Thousand Suns and don't roll 1 on the deepstrike mishap table...

Last battle was against Wim (the person after Wobbly Model Syndrome). Last year the first battle was against him. Next year will meet half way? So this battle didn't turn out like I thought it would be. Made some errors and some scarifies. Like placing my Plaguebearers in front of this Carnifex unit. Something had to distract the fire! After that my Havoc luckily killed his Warlord. I didn't get first blood.  My damn rhino's keep giving that away. But still It brings them where the battle is and the lets plasma away! Or poison the Tervigon!  They did manage to get a wound of! In the end my lone plague marine survived the battle against his Zoanthrope.  And don't place the Helldrake with his rear facing the Carnifex all those twin linked shots!

The person who won the tournament was a Dutch guy playing with 3 Helldrakes, 3 Maulerfiends, 2 Hellbrutes with autocannons or lascannons, 2 units of plague marines in a Rhino, a Chaos Lord with Burning Brand, Aegis Defence Line and them some cultists to fill in the rest of the points.

Not so sure about the Maulerfiends. Hellbrutes maybe yes! I'm thinking about making a Daemon Prince with the Black Mace, Wings and Power Armour. Other than that, there is a going to be a second Helldrake in my list for sure this summer.

Also the last painting for the tournament list. I'm going to tour with this list for the next few times to see how it goes against other armies. But the second Helldrake and Daemon Prince are coming in the summer list for sure!
