Fighting the Meta of 6th Edition

So played with my vindicator list a few times and I think I close to finding what I want for this list. But with Chaos around the corner and the dark gods whispering in my ears. I will just lay down the Blood Angels codex and focus on Chaos. So what would be the plan for Chaos and breaking the meta in 6th edition.

First of all let's look to the NOVA opens. There a blob imperial guard with space wolves won the tournament. And vehicles are almost completely from the field. So that leaves what? Footslogging marines and orks! I played against foot slogging orks A lascannon killing a battlewagon in the front and exploding it, Stormraven who got glanced down, vindicators who kill orks, he had one group of 30orks left. Came on the table with 80orks. Not that bad! Vindicators lasted till 3-4 turn. But with the new Chaos book I'm more looking into Imperial Guard allies for them. Will see if Chaos got something better then basilisk. I'm looking forward to the codex. The list for 1500pts Tournament would look something like this:

HQ: Librarian, with Divination goes with sternguard

Elites:

Corbulo  goes with sternguard

5men sternguard (1combi plasma, combi melta, heavy flamer, sergeant got meltabomb) Rhino Dozerblade and search light

Troops:

 2x Razorback with Lascannon, Twin Linked Plasma Gun, dozerblade and search light. Inside the razorback an assault squad with meltagun.

10men assault squad with 2x meltagun, powersword and melta bomb sergeant

Heavy support:

2x Vindicator with siege shield and search light

Stormraven with Twin linked Plasma Cannons and Twin linked multimelta

I'm not sure if this beating new meta. I'm just thinking out loud here. Don't shoot me if I'm wrong in a year!

Ooh and 2 markers for on my stormraven base! A Nurgling and Plaguebearer. This really fits my Nurgle Angels army! Also making a full Nurgling base for objective markers. The Sternguard is getting the same treatment as my Honour Guard and Sanguinary Guard. Old gold rusty style! My girlfriend also asked to paint up a Templar Terminator as my cyclone wolf guard. Silver with a devlan mud wash, and now I tried it with badab black. This came out darker and it kinda looks better.

The Green Knight Grand Tournament 40k

So this saturday it was The Green Knight Grand Tournament 40k! The LAST 5Th edition tournament. I came in 3rd!! of the 14 players. I fought against orks, grey knights and necrons! Well I was lucky it wasn't against real tournament lists! Still had some problems with the orcs! Damn battlewagons and there tankshock stuff! Damn nasty! And then there was the grey knight with their power weapons and  their riflemen dreads! But it both games I always keep thinking about the primary objective, second was for when I had time left. 

In the first battle it was controlling the other opponents his 3 objectives on his side. I got two objectives on my side protected and then I controlled 2 on his side. So he only got one on my side and one he didn't control. Win for me! On the secondary he got the victory.  

The second mission was getting an objective to your side. Their where 3 markers in the middle! For this mission I got a big blob of assault marines with me. I charged for the objective gripped it and fly back to my side. I shot his stormraven out of the air so his paladins had to walk. He only had 2 troops with him to get the objective, lucky for me there was a lot of terrain on the board so I could block his way to the objectives for that mission. He had to get out and charge my squads, I got 4 troops with me! I killed his two 5 men squads and then had to hope their wouldn't be turn 7! I wasn't so I won primary again! Secondary was one point per squad you got  below half strength. With only my assault marines, priest and libby left he won that one. 

Third mission was a win for me also, I got really lucky because he couldn't explode any of my vehicles and he rolled really bad! I felt sad for the kid, even more when I exploded his Monolith! Primary objective was to claim more corners then your opponent! And troops count as double. So I got that one. I had 3 troops in 3 corners and predators in my own which was one point. Secondary was killing the other his general. We both failed that so a draw!  I must say It was fun ending of a very very hot day and the last 5th Edition!!

WIP Display Board

So remember this picture folks?

This week I finally worked on it!  I used a metal plate for the magnets in my bases. So I can put my figures on it and not fall of all the time. I'm going to put some in my rhino's also!  

Display board with  some sand on it! But I was out of glue so I had to get some more glue... And now It looks like this:

I had for today a wonderful assistant! My girlfriend cut out of the edge for board.

I cleaned the board from  rest over's of the  glue.

Then came the fun stuff! Using silicon glue for the gluing!

And then I found out that my tube was broken!!

Time to do it with hands...

A very dirty and sticky job! But It was worth it!

I'll get the edge's from it tomorrow when it has dried

The total look of the board! Tomorrow it's another layer of sand on it. Then lets spray it black and then painting time!

Sadly my dog got hit by a rhino! His in the hospital :(
