Speculations

So after Dark Eldar the speculations are that we are going to have Blood Angels! The Angels are back!

Not this kind of Angels.
If we see what the Space Wolves brought I’m hoping Blood Angels get some fast hard hitting unit that has T5 and two/three wounds. Let’s hope they don’t get a “grey knight codex”. Just like people are thinking the Dark Eldar are getting. But we will see that this weekend.
I’m hoping I mix my Nurgle Angels with Khorne Wolves. To get an army just  like I run Chaos Space Marines. Fast hitting and killing stuff. Heck! Maybe games workshop lets Death Company take bikes! Which would be very sweet… a T5, feel no pain unit, 2 attacks standard, reroll to hits, preferred enemy That together with a chaplain. Backed up with some Thunderwolves, Baal Predators,... I can only dream...

Rumours are like these:
via Steve the Warboss
-The Sons of Sanguinius will come soon after Endtimes Book 2. (I hope this)
-GW will use this release slot to replace older Space Marine Plastic sprues. (doubt this)
-4-5 week are realistic. (doubt this)
Enough about the speculations the only thing I painted this week and weekend were the flesh hounds I bought from a buddy. They received a wash, some extra colors and only the base needs to be finished. Other than that lots of tv series have restarted so fun times ahead for me and the misses!!

Daemon Princes

So let’s sit down and talk some daemon prince stuff. I love the big guys. They are fun to build and there are some nice conversion out there. One of my favorite is done by GuitaRasmus. His Nurgle Daemon Prince and his Obliterator Daemon Prince. Just look and all the things he used to build his bad boys! And then I haven’t showed all his other stuff. Check it out here: Dark Mech, Nurgle, KhorneTzeentch,

Next up everyone their favorite spam person… Goatboy! His painting style is a bit different but his conversion make up for that. It’s more a personally feeling. I only show some of his Daemon stuff. You really should check out his blog.

His Keeper of Secrets

is one of the guys that really makes your jaw drop. He has done some crazy stuff and I’m looking forward what his going to do with the new fantasy releases. His Daemon Princes really pop with the yellow and all the necron / mechanical parts in it. Out of a Hellbrute he made awesome gorilla daemon prince.

Let’s not forget my own daemon princes! First some are pretty standard conversion done. Like a daemon prince jump pack and some trophies on the red guy. He can be used as Bloodthirster or Mark of Khorne Daemon Prince. The blue can be used as any daemon prince. A summoned Lord Of change maybe one day. Then I got the green guy with the big mace thingy. If I use him in games he is used as a Black Mace Nurgle Prince. Then you have my Games Workshop Great Unclean One (metal) and one from Puppetwars (plastic). Mr. Nurgle always tags along now to be summoned. Then I have a count as Keeper of Secrets. Taken from the fantasy Dark Elves range. Pretty simple paint job but a fun model to build and paint. The last Daemon Prince is one of Slaanesh. I did a bit more conversion work on this guy since he has to stand out a bit.

40k EVENT Replay - Albion

Saturday 13th september in Kortrijk it was time for a local tournament. 1850 points, almost everything allowed! A ‘civil’ list and lots of funky maelstrom missions. We had some folks from Gent coming to play there. They brought some non-civil list but still it was a blast.
Damn I dislike Tau!
First battle was a hard nut to crack… Tau! My favorite 40k army. I faced 9 broadsides, 3 Riptipdes, 1 imperial knight and some kroots. Rolled twice Invisibility got first turn so I went in with some confidence. I must confess this was match up that wasn’t in my favor. Surely because of the amount shots and all the ‘Ooh, you are assaulting my friend? I’m shooting too then!’ Really? Who invented that rule… First turn my Invisible screamer star (they failed the grimoir) moved forward right in front of the broadsides. I used one sorcerer and spawn unit to attract the Imperial Knight. IT worked! But I lost the unit. Then I gave it a maulerfiend to eat. Meanwhile I eat two units of broadsides. I also gave him some daemonettes to shoot at. They scored the maelstrom objective so they could go. End of the battle? 13-7 for Tau. It could have been worse!!!
Rolling dice like a "pro"
Tau vs Screamer star
Battle two was against Eldar! This was a battle where I had to ask my opponent everything twice and let him check things. Not because of cheating more of not knowing for sure. He did play the maelstrom missions very good. Did some funky stuff with daemons. Locking a wraithknight with the screamer star. Killing almost all the wraith guard dudes. Holding my objective against his seer council and scoring like that! I also rolled double ones on my leadership test with the pinkies. BOEM! Unit is back! Then the hounds killed his wraith walkers. He scored 9-11 against me.
Me facing the Eldar
Third battle was versus a Chaos Space Marine and Daemon summoning army. He had 10  warpcharges and I had 20…  So I controlled the psychic phase. Everything he tried to cast I dispelled it! Was really frustrating for him… Didn’t get Invisibility this turn but gathered my entire screamer star around his chaos marines so he couldn’t get away. In the end he was complaining a lot that he couldn’t do anything with his list. Sadly I was playing the tactical game and won big against him. 20-0 for me.
See the screamers having fun below the picture?

I end up taking third place of the 12 people there. Happy me! So I bought a box of daemonettes to make some fiends. Next tournament => Challenge 9! 4th of October!

The list I'm took and which I'm gonna tour with till next summer.
